Full House Renovation in Didsbury

Having rented our their property for a few years, our clients wanted the house to be totally revamped to feel more like their own home.  The interior schemes are all subtle and feature a lot of their own little touches which create a very personal style. (click image to enlarge)

Open Plan Dining Space

The biggest change in this property was the dining space which opens to the small kitchen.  The natural light has been hugely increased with the installation of new bi-fold doors to the garden.  We created an informal seating area with super comfy armchairs and installed bespoke illuminated wine racks into the alcoves.  The new space feels fresh, bright and contemporary, and seems to be exactly what our client dreamed of!

Living Room

Our clients dreamed of a snug cosy sitting room, so we selected soft and tactile fabrics in shades of mushroom and linen.  Mis-matched sofas and a giant velvet pouff keep the look casual. There are plenty of special touches such as the antique mirror and candle arrangement to create a unique fireplace setting, along with bespoke chunky shelving and pull-out TV unit.  The picture shelf also washes the wall with a subtle and warm glow of light

Master Bedroom:   The Master Bedroom has a fresh romantic feel, with full length luxury curtains and soft light-filtering sheers.  Pastel shades of blue, greys and white create a soothing look with the added textured pale silver feature wallpaper.  Open bedside tables , elegant lamps and crisp white bedding make the room feel larger than it is.  Finally, the client’s own mirrored wardrobe and contrasting wooden dressing table adds to the simplistic charm of this room.

Guest Bedroom and Home Office:

This tiny guest bedroom needed a complete new scheme to become welcoming and restful.  With the client’s own bed and wardrobe setting the tone, we added a funky chest of drawers, an oversized leaner mirror and a handy basket shelving arrangement to help the users get ready in the morning.  The showstopping feature of this room are the beautiful feather curtains which feel dreamy and special – perfect for a guest bedroom.

The home office was simply designed to reflect our client’s love of natural woods and clean lines.  Solid oak L-shaped countertops provide a simple open look, with added bookcase shelving and filing cabinets for a practical and beautiful space.  Their own collections of guitars, records and our large round oak mirror complete this room with quirky, personal touches.

Hallway and Entrance

This typical Victorian hallway required a contemporary identity and generally brightening up. We added a cool spider-style lighting at the top of the stairs to flood the landing with light, along with a huge mirror over the stairsto reflect the light. A funky mirror in the entryway was lifted with a raw-edged rustic oak shelf and lamps to provide an elegant place to rest mail, keys and act as a charging station.

The biggest surprise to this home is the new addition of an under-stairs washroom which did not exist before.  Our clients were brave enough to opt for a busy and dark wallpaper all over, to completely contrast against the plain painted walls in the rest of the house.  We love this quirky little room!
