Traditional and Enchanting Interiors

Contemporary chic works wonders in an array of homes, but sometimes it’s refreshing to create a traditional look and feel, particularly in a period property.

If you’re the proud owner of a traditional home the world is your oyster in terms of interior design. Traditional interiors can allow you to inject classic style and stature into your house. Take a look at the following:

The bedroom

We doubt there’s any choice of furniture more stately than the four poster bed. In this bedroom, we’ve chosen to make a strong focus of the frame, which in a stunning dark wood hue, contrasts beautifully with the white of the wardrobes and drawers.

Seating areas

Comfortable armchairs that provide support as well as style work wonderfully in the traditional home. This plush chair features an interesting shape, deep seat and soft cushioning – but not too soft. We think that the beige hue next to the pleats of the duck egg curtains, the room benefits from a bright airy feeling, like the coming of spring. This seat, next to the coffee table, is the perfect place to relax with a good book.

In the office

This office is perfectly panelled to create a look that’s both innovative and timeless. In days gone by we’d have seen oak panelling, but this can certainly make a room feel small and oppressive. To brighten the mood, while retaining the feeling or traditional grandeur, we’ve used a neutral and grey colour scheme. The dark wood desk keeps things classic, as does the opulent window blind.

Traditional interior design doesn’t mean old and stuffy. We love this light and airy home with its yester-year references, and we hope you do too.
