Aidan, The Electrician

Aidan McDonald, has worked as an electrician since starting an apprenticeship with Manchester City Council at the age of 16.

He studied his trade for three years at the Manchester College in Openshaw and later gained his 2391 qualification to be an approved electrician.

He is a 17th edition certified electrician, which ensures he is up-to-date with regulations for electrical installations.

Aidan is also registered with Part P of the Building Regulations, a Government-approved scheme to make sure all electrical work carried out within a home or garden is done so safely and that building control is notified of the work.

With 15 years’ experience under his belt, Aidan ensures work is carried out safely and efficiently.

He said: “I like to see the final product, when everything is lit up and in working order. It is obviously also vital that everything is made safe.

“I am efficient, punctual and make sure customers are happy with the job.  I don’t take any money until the job is finished and I know customers are satisfied. I also leave the place spotless – sometimes cleaner than when I started!”

The Manchester United fan likes to watch his team play at the stadium or on TV in his spare time. He also likes to socialise, play five-aside-football with friends, go to the gym and jet off on the occasional holiday.  He has recently become engaged to his partner, Nicola.
