Whilst many other interior designers offer free zoom calls, I prefer to start things with a more personal approach. A home consultation allows us to meet each other in person, and I can see the spaces you are struggling with to get a real feel for them right from the beginning of the process.

Understandably, this is one of the first questions clients ask.

However, as each project varies, its a rather difficult answer to give without misleading you.  Some projects are Design-Only, others need a turnkey management service.  Sometimes its a single room, often its a whole house.  My services are tailored to suit your needs, budget and project.

But here’s what I can tell you:

The initial home consultation is free of charge (travel costs apply to homes further than 25 miles away from my studio), and if you think you want to know more after this first visit, I’ll prepare a tailored written proposal which outlines the design brief, the best services to suit you and your home, and clear, transparent fees for you to understand.

I pride myself on having no hidden fees, no spiraling project costs and clear open conversations around how you’d like to finance your project.

Each design package includes:

• Hand-drawn room plans to scale, including wall elevations and bespoke details like furniture or lighting ideas.  These plans help you to understand how a new layout can flow, and ensure all the practical details have been taken into consideration.

• Beautiful visuals to evoke the intended mood and style of the interior, as well as showing products available to purchase to bring the designs to life.  These images are essential to view items in context to each other so you can make clear and confident final choices for each item.

• Sample trays created especially for each room, full of every surface to feature in your space.  From tiles, to wallpaper, metal finishes, woodgrains and fabrics, your samples are there to touch and feel all the tangible elements of the design, and to be seen in the light of your room (not an overly lit showroom)

• Budget Guide to turn the dreamy plans into a reality.  Each product and finish I show you is listed for you to use a shopping list.  This means you can research the suggested products yourself, check out the suppliers and see exactly how much each item will cost before deciding if its the right piece for you. 

• Realistic 2D CAD visuals can be added to your design package to help you really visualize how beautiful your space can look in its finished state. 

And all these design elements are presented to you in the comfort of your home, at a relaxed pace so you can soak in all the wonderful details.

It’s also my chance to get a real feel for the spaces in question; I’ll be able to assess the natural light in the room, how access works, your storage issues and more.

During the consultation, we’ll bounce around lots of ideas to get the creative juices flowing with inspiration.

I’ll also demonstrate how a typical design package works, by bringing along an example for you to see and touch.  We’ll have some time to browse the portfolio book too for even more inspiration and ideas from my previous projects.

You can choose from a Design-Only package, which includes all the images, samples, drawings and costs you’ll need to implement the designs yourself with your own contractors.

This service is ideal for those who love DIY, have a more limited budget, and have a great team of contractors they trust already in place.

For most of my clients, they lack the time, experience or contacts to really bring the designs to life properly.

In which case, my team and I can oversee every phase of your project for you, with a tailored Project Management service.  This includes ordering your materials, overseeing deliveries, scheduling contractors, ensuring workmanship is high quality and keeping a tight rein on the budget.  The final phase of the project involves room styling, hanging artwork, positioning plants and accessories and ensuring everything works, so all you have to do is enjoy your finished space.

It’s always better to be involved with a project in the very early phases. This means I can suggest important details, like window or door positioning or overall layout, before you commit to a building project.

Many of my clients are extending or building a new property, and I can create design schemes from architects’s plans which can be very helpful to control the whole vision of the home from the start.

During some seasons, the schedule is very busy and my lead times can vary depending on the demand at the time.
