A bright and cheerful interior for the client’s children, who asked for a room which would grow with them and suit both boys and girls.

The brief called for the existing parquet flooring to be retained, and in fact inspired the contemporary chevron elements seen throughout the space.

For art and craft session, homework and children’s parties, an extending mid century dining table sits at one end of the room, to allow free play space in the rest of the space. A fitted storage unit hides art supplies and games, and creates a bench seat for informal family meals, illuminated by colourful cage style pendants overhead.

In this stunning 1930s property, the period bay window was enhanced with an upholstered window seat, with orange crate toy storage for added texture, and the addition of youthful cushions in an array of polka dot shades.
